Mistakes:
Even ER is not perfect. Here are the mistakes that we've noticed.
-Luka told Kerry his wife and kids were taken away
during the war, but later he told Carol (and we were
shown in "The Crossing") that the building they were
in was bombed.
**Note** He did tell Kerry they were taken
away but then told Carol that the building was bombed
and they died as a result...so wouldn't it suffice to
say that they were in effect "taken away". They died,
therefore they WERE "taken away" from Luka.
-Benton told Jeanie his mother stood up and applauded
at his graduation, but he later told Carter he missed
it because he was busy in a surgery.
-Anna says her boyfriend was on heroin, but later she
tells Carter that he was addicted to percocet.
-In one of the episodes where Kerry had the day off,
you can clearly see the initials KW on the board.
Towards the end of "Ambush" Kerry Weaver can be seen
walking normally without a cane.
-Benton says that he doesn't know his blood type,
which is unlikely for a doctor.
-In "Family Matters" a patient comes in and is
diagnosed with gonorrhea. Later, however, you can see
him dressed in scrubs, walking through the background.
-In "Be Patient", Carter says the knife he was stabbed with was 8 inches. But in "May Day" he says it was a 6 inc butcher knife.
- In 'Sand and Water' it was stated that Carter would
be starting work in a week, and that Jing Mei was 22
weeks along in her pregnancy. In 'Mars Attacks',
Carter is starting work, but Jing Mei tells Carter
that she's 24 weeks pregnant.
- Jing Mei was a third year resident, but she was
allowed to become cheif resident and serve her fourth
year at the same time. However, in "Never Say Never",
it's stated that Jing Mei was only a short time away
from completing her residency.
-I saw a rerun of "Survival of the Fittest" and this is when Carter broke up with Rena...there was a little boy named Simon that needed some blood tests, but didn't like it. Rena came and blew some bubbles to relax him, but at one point she is holding the bubbles, then the little boy, Rena again, and the little boy agian.
- In "Love Among the Ruins" Mark says that Carter's
father's name is Roland (he reads it in a magazine).
In Four Corners, Mr. Carter is called Jack (of course,
that could be a nickname, but it is not implied).
- Malik's last name is McGrath, however Doug once
referred to him as Malik Williams
- Mark once told Susan that he didn't know how to
skate. However, in "Flight of Fancy" he told Dave
that he played hockey when he was younger, meaning he
would definitely know how to skate.
- In "Family Matters" Jing Mei treats a man with
gonnorhea. However, later in the episode you can see
the patient dressed as an orderly, walking through the
back of a scene.
-In "Beyond Repair", Abby tells Carter that Lewis is discharging Sobriki, but in the scene before that, we see Lewis at the hockey game with Malik.
-In "Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic" Carter tells Abby that he has never been arrested before. However, in "Obstruction of Justice" he was arrested for obstruction of justice.
-In "Love Among the Ruins" (Season 1), Carter is reminiscing with a wealthy patient, discussing John's Icelandic Pony, Marigold, who was described as being white. In "Ground Zero" (Season 4) when Carol and Anna visit the Carter mansion, they view a painting of John astride a horse identified by the butler as being Marigold. The horse is clearly black.
-In "Peace of Mind" (S7), Mark and Elizabeth are preparing to admit Mark for the craniotomy in a New York City facility. The scene's background is Radio City Music Hall which is located on the northeast corner of 50th street and Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan. This therefore places them in front of the building on the northwest corner of 49th street and Avenue of the Americas. Not only is there no hospital facility in that particular building, there are none located within at least 20 blocks of that location.
-In Partly Cloudy Chance Of Rain, Susan told Carter that her dog's name was "Happy", but in a latter episode, Susan told Chen that she named her dog "Puddles".
- CorrectionIn "Damage
is Done" (season 8) Abby's neighbor Brian breaks into her appartment and assaults her. However, the chain isn't ever locked and thus it is not broken, so Abby is able to lock it later
- When Carter is confronted by the staff
about his drug use ("May Day", Season 6), when Weaver asks him to follow her, he puts his stethescope in one coat pocket. When he walks into the room, it's in the other pocket.
- In "Secrets and Lies" (Season 8), Gallant says his twin sister's name is Susan. When she appears on the show in Season 10, her name is Valerie.
- Also in "Secrets and Lies" (Season 8), Gallant says his sister didn't go into the military because she has Cerebral Palsy. We find out in Season 10 that she has M.S.
