Now Famous Guest Stars:
There are an abundance of people who were on ER, and later became stars. Here they are.

Bradley Whitford plays the husband of a woman who dies from pre-eclamsia while giving birth in "Love's Labor Lost" (season 1) and following episodes, including some in season 2. He now plays Josh on "The West Wing".



Michael Beach played Al Boulet, Jeanie's ex-husband (seasons 1-4). He now plays Doc on "Third Watch."



Coby Bell played young althlete Brett Nicholson, who is diagnosed with cancer in "Good Touch, Bad Touch" (season 4) He now plays Ty on "Third Watch."



Jorja Fox played resident Maggie Doyle (season 3-4) She now plays Sara on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."



Julia Whelan was in "The Miracle Worker(season 5). She plays Grace on "Once and Again."



Gabrielle Union was in the episode "Family Matters" (season 6). She co-starred in the movie Bring It On with fellow former ER guest, Kirstin Dunst (see below).



Kirsten Dunst played homeless teen Charlie (season 3). She has been in movies such as Jumanji, Wag the Dog, and in Bring It On with former ER guest Gabrielle Union (see above).



Mena Suvari was a patient in "Last Call" (season 3). She has been in movies such as American Pie, American Beauty, and The Musketeer.




Miguel Ferrer was in "24 Hours", the series pilot. He was in Traffic and is in the new series "Crossing Jordan."



Brenda Strong was in "Into That Good Night" (season 1). She was on the show "Sports Night", and has had small roles in Spaceballs , and The Deep End of the Ocean.




Julie Bowen from the TV show "Ed" and the movie Happy Gillmore played Roxanne Please in season 5.



Kirstin Davis was in the episode "Luck of the Draw" (season 1). She is now on "Sex and the City."



Janel Moloney was in the episode "The Birthday Party" (season 1). She is now on "The West Wing."



Alexa Vega was in "Sleepless in Chicago" (season 1). She was in The Deep End of the Ocean, Little Giants, and Spy Kids.



Amy Aquino plays Dr. Cobern (seasons 1-current). She is on the show "Felicity".



Erik von Detten was Ben in "Hell and High Water" (season 2). He was in The Princess Diaries, and was the voice of Sid in Toy Story.



Richard Schiff was in the episode "The Match Game" (season 2). He is on "The West Wing" and is in many movies such as Se7en, Deep Impact, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.



Ewan McGregor played Duncan, the drugstore robber in "The Long Way Around" (season 3). He is in the Star Wars prequels, Moulin Rouge, and a plethora of other great movies. In fact, he was famous in the UK prior to being on ER for the wonderful Trainspotting, but America's a little slow. He is also one of my favourite actors. Thanks ER for introducing us. Clea Duvall, who isn't related to Robert Duvall, was in the episodes "Faith" and "Who's Appy Now?" (season 3). She was in the movie The Faculty.



Chad Lowe, brother of actor Rob Lowe, was in "Something New", "Freak Show", and "Do You See What I See?". He is on the TV show "Popular".



Trevor Morgan was Scott Anspaugh in season 4. He was in The Patriot, and Jurassic Park III.(Ironically, in JP3, he plays the son of William H. Macy, who was Dr. Morganstern.)



David Brisbin, who is Laura Innes' husbad, plays Dr. Babcock (seasons 4-current.) He was on the show "Hey Dude."



Matthew Glave played Dale Edson (seasons 2-5). He was in The Wedding Singer.



Cress Williams played Jeanie's husband Reggie in seasons 5-6. He was on "Nash Bridges".



David Krumholtz played Paul Sobricki, who stabbed Lucy and Carter, in "Be Still My Heart" and "All in the Family" (season 6). He was in The Santa Clause, The Mexican, and 10 Things I Hate About You among other things.



Shiri Appleby played Ms. Murphy is "24 Hours", the ER pilot episode. She was the woman who has her baby. She is now in "Roswell."



Anton Yelchin played Robbie Edelstein, the boy who loses his mother and father, in "Be Still My Heart" (season 6). He was in Hearts in Atlantis with Sir Anthony Hopkins.



Mariska Hargitay played Cynthia Hooper, desk clerk and Dr. Greene's girlfriend(season 4). She is now Detective Olivia Benson on "Law and Order: SVU".



George Eads played Paramedic Dean Powell (Season 4). He is now Nick Stokes on "CSI."



Jake Llyod played Jimmy Sweet, the son of prostitute Loretta (Season 2). He played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace.



Ron Rifkin was Dr. Carl Vucelich (Season 2). He has since been in movies such as L.A. Confidential, The Negotiator, and The Sum of All Fears.

Jennifer Rhodes was Mrs. Henry in "It's Not Easy Being Greene" (Season 2). She is now on the show Charmed, and was on Third Rock from the Sun.

Cara Delizia played Andrea Parks in "Be Patient" (Season 6). She starred in the show So Weird
and is now on Boston Public.


Lucy Liu played Mei-Sun Leow in a three episode arc in Season 2. She was in the Charlie's Angels movies, but more importantly, was awesome as Japanese Mob Boss O-Ren Ishii in Kill Bill: Volume 1.








Gillmore Girls Cast Members

Incredibly, most of the cast of the popular WB show Gillmore Girls have previously guest starred on ER!


Liza Weil played Samantha Sobricki, Paul's wife (see above) in "All in the Family" (season 6 and 8).



Jared Padalecki played Paul Harris in "Piece of Mind" (Season 7).
